Aloha a mai !
I became interested in bodywork and energy medicine in 2003 after receiving Iwi’ula style LomiLomi for a work-related injury. The healing that resulted was astounding and inspired me to develop a more holistic focus to my work as a nurse. Since then, I’ve studied a variety of wellness practices in addition to massage and holistic nursing, including the ancient Hawaiian healing principles of LomiLomi at Halau o Limaloa Seattle, and Ho'omana Spa in Makawao, Maui. In 2006 I earned my Level III Reiki Master Practitioner certificate at Tree of Life Reiki Training Institute, and in 2013 became a Certified BodyTalk Access Technician at Sacred Approach Healing Arts. In 2014, I graduated from a year-long apprenticeship in the healing practices of core shamanism at Healing Winds in Seattle, and completed Level III Yi Ren Medical Qigong training at The Noble School of Tai Chi and Qigong.
I am dedicated to lifelong learning and patient education. With over twenty years of practice, teaching, and case management experience in multiple areas of the healthcare field, I view myself as a partner in my clients’ total wellness. My holistic approach to treatment is supported by my experience using massage and Reiki in my nursing work, and my study of shamanic modalities, aromatherapy, reflexology and medical qigong in my massage practice. Together, my clients and I create an individualized plan for treatment, education and self care which enables them to be more aware of what is going on in their bodies, and provides take-home tools to help shift what needs to be changed. I honor and appreciate the opportunity to work with the innate healing wisdom of each person's own body, mind, and spirit to help establish a lifestyle of wellness.
My practice is located at Westbay Bodywork Collective on California Avenue in West Seattle between the Alaska and Morgan Junctions. Our unique collective focuses on education and wellbeing with an emphasis on community involvement. As environmental stewards we use sustainable, organic, vegan and fairly traded products and seek every opportunity to buy locally.
